I’m lovin’ it pt. 2

Murcia

It’s been a week of change. Here’s what I’ve been enjoying over the past 7ish days (that a lie, it’s been like 3 weeks).

murcia, spain.

Places

My bedroom at home (UK) is one of my favourite places as it’s filled with all my useless junk. But my mum is the master of disguise and it always seems to be tidy when I come back home to visit. Nothing beats sleeping on a memory foam mattress, surrounded by disney cuddly toys with a backlog of magazines saved for me.

Listening

I’ve been loving chilled out, summer trap music recently and this song is one of my favourites right now

Mura Masa – Firefly

I can’t away from this song; our next door neighbours in Paris wanted to have a song battle the other day and this one ended it (I won). I just hope it doesn’t get too overplayed over summer. The video makes me wanna go to India and get my groove orrrrn.

Major Lazor & DJ Snake ft MO – Lean On

I go through phases with Flume but they’re getting me through long walks to work.

Flume – Holdin’ on

Nearly as fab as ‘treat me like fire’. The girl (Jillian) from Lion Babe has the best hair.

Lion Babe – wonder woman

Apping

Kloe got Bitstrips so I had to copy. Ha I know we’re so late to the party. It’s annoying that you can’t add highlights to your hair or random hair braids. Or birthmarks or beauty spots. Boo.

Watching

This must be one of the most random facts I’ve heard in a while but did anyone else know that the producer Naughty Boy was on Deal or No Deal!!?!?!?!?! And he’s from Watford big up Hertfordshire ah yeah. I feel like everyone should watch this as a reminder; don’t brag about losing loads of weight on TV then proceed to put it all back on again?! And don’t steal Zayn from 1D!

Exercise

A whole lot of walking. What happens when you live outside of Paris and miss the last metro home? ‘Get a simple night bus or taxi!’ I hear you cry. Well apparently I was feeling pumped and ready for a 9 mile walk home the other night. Am I ok?!

Buying

I don’t have much money and not much work lined up (for now) but who can resist a floaty beach cover up for €5 from the local charity shop?! The answer is not me.

Reading

Who’d of thought Easyjet magazine ‘Traveller’ would be any good?! It’s worth a read if you’re on a cheapo flight across Europe, the articles are cute and actually relevant to travelling, living, partying and working in the city. Plus you can take it away with you for free. Ah yeah flying economic all day day erryday.

Random – Hair

I dyed my hair again. It’s almost identical to the pink ombre but a bit darker and the box dye suggests more purple. But it lied and its hardly purple, must find brighter dye!

What I’m lovin’ about Paris

Au Pairing in Paris

Just a quick post about my fave things in Paris; my first fortnight has been so good and I can’t quite get my head around how much I’ve done alongside working and studying.

Feeling very french in my beret and moustache

Feeling very french in my beret and moustache

So here’s what I’m lovin’ about Paris (so far!)

– Because it’s a relatively small city it’s actually easier and quicker to get around than London.

– It’s perfectly fine to be drinking from a bottle of wine on the street in the middle of the day (I’m not an alcoholic, I promise)

– Baguettes! all day everyday

– Most people can speak English. Obviously I’m trying to learn French but it’s good to know English is there as a back up

– Street style

– You can always smell something delicious  when you walk down the street. Pizza, crepes, bread, cakes etc etc

– My travel is paid for so I use any excuse to get on the metro and explore

– It’s difficult to get bored of the sight of the Eiffel Tower

– Metro parties. Although terrifyingly dangerous, loads of fun

– Clothes shops are amazing

– Casual Sunday picnics with 1000 people

– Sephora. It’s like another world

– The kids I look after can be so sweet; an impromptu hug or giggle outweighs the tantrums

– The weather is fab fab fab at the moment

– French people have the best names

– I’ve met some of the loveliest people here already

– The little dogs…

Aaaaaand I think that’s all for now!

Running with Dolphins – Holidays in South Africa – 9th May 2014

Africa

I love a good beach. If you’re my friend or follow me on facebook/twitter/instagram/tumblr/pinterest you’ll probably have already grasped this fact…

I love swimming in the sea (I can chose between 2 oceans when in Cape Town which never fails to amaze me), I love playing bat and ball, I love watching the surfers and I could spend all day sunbathing. If being a beach visitor was a sport I would be a professional. On 9th May we stumbled upon a pretty little beach at Plettenberg Bay. We didn’t plan to stay long as we were travelling from Knysna to Addo Elephant Park and just wanted to stretch our legs and take a few photos before heading off again.

Image

As well as being a total beach bum I’m also very good at being the last at things; the last to exit the car, the last to finish a meal, last to decide what to have from the menu. This day I was the last to turn away from watching the ocean and in the distance I could see fin like shapes bobbing up and down in the water, not too far away. One side of my brain was about to explode with excitement – loads of wild dolphins just a few metres away! The other side of my brain was doubtful – surely they would’t be this close, just jumping about like dolphins in movies?! My mouth just went ‘kerjfgnjdhgsgjn DOLPHINS, GUYS COME SEE!! aakjdnbsjvbfjhsv’.

admittedly my photos aren’t great but I was way too caught up in the moment to care too much

Trisha, Bill, Callum and I just stood and watched as about 30 wild dolphins swam, surfed the waves and jumped about in front of us. And we were the only ones on the beach! Amazing. As they moved along the water Callum and I couldn’t resist running along the beach next to them. We were running on a gorgeous, empty beach so close to a pod of 30 dolphins in Africa. Can things get any cooler?! I felt like I was in a cheesy film about love and freedom… It was great.

We also saw a double rainbow that day. What is up with the universe?!
