WHAT’S WRITTEN IN THE STARS FOR YOU IN 2022 - CAREER, DATING AND TRAVEL
So, we’re currently in 02/2022 which means it’s only right that it gets astrological up in here. I knew there was only one person for the job, and that’s London’s very own professional intuitive tarot reader & tropical astrology enthusiast, Nubian.
Over a third of us regularly read our horoscopes, and tarot and astrology are becoming more and more ‘mainstream’, with celebrities like Doja Cat regularly hinting about star signs and spirituality in their work, so Nubian has got our backs with an exclusive insight into her world.
Nubian, where did your journey into Tarot and Astrology start?
“There has always been signs that it is my calling, even back in the day I used to love reading the Mystic Meg sections in the newspaper! Horoscopes and astrology all seemed to die down in general, but a couple of years ago my friend convinced me to watch a tarot reading, and it all changed from there. I didn’t believe in it at all at the start, but I was wrong - it shook me! A few months later I was called to get a deck for myself to see where things would go. I picked up my deck and the rest is history.”
How did you learn to read the cards?
“YouTube helped me a lot. I’d already been watching tarot videos for fun, so I got used to the definitions of the cards. Every deck comes with a booklet with meanings and what each card represents, and Google has good explanations. I studied creative writing and journalism at university and tarot is all about storytelling, so it’s a really nice feeling to be able to tell a story with the cards.”
I know you’re the Queen of profection charts - what’s important for us to know here in the UK this year?
“2022 is a good year for improving your skills. Don’t sleep on your ideas this year, it’s all about building routines and keeping important things organised. From a personal perspective, I would encourage people to journal and focus on communicating with yourself, especially from a spiritual perspective. A great way to understand what this looks like is from the Disney movie Soul, where he’s not thinking about it, it comes naturally, you feel at ease and free.
“This is a good year for travelling within your immediate environment and other parts of the country and it’s the year to get settled and to explore your area.
“In terms of the dating scene, this year it’s all about taking your initiative, embracing your independence and feeling confident within yourself. Make sure you keep a clear vision when dating/in your relationship, don’t ignore red flags and ensure you enforce your boundaries. Despite this, you don’t need to keep your guard up - just stay ready so you don’t have to get ready. Keeping up with sexual health should be at the forefront of our minds this year. Be cautious and make sure to get routine checks.”
One of the common questions that came up is that if tarot readings are real, why aren’t all readers predicting the World Cup or winning the lottery?!
“It’s such a huge misconception - I have to remind people that I’m not a psychic, I don’t believe anything is set in stone and I don’t gravitate towards the future in my readings. I pick up more on the present and the past, and from that build upon how I can help you to move forward. Every tarot reader is different, and it’s important to find a reader that will provide you with the type of information that you are looking for.”
